Getting Around
By Car: From San José or Liberia, it’s about a 3–4 hour drive. Most of the road is paved, but the final stretch to Monteverde includes some gravel roads — a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for comfort.
By Shuttle: Shared or private shuttles run daily from major destinations like San José, La Fortuna, and Guanacaste. This is a convenient and comfortable option for travelers who prefer not to drive.
By Bus:
Budget-friendly public buses connect San José and Monteverde, offering an authentic local experience, though travel times may be longer.
